Acer japonicum ‘Vitifolium’ is small, elegant maple tree that grows to approximately 15′ tall and wide. The name ‘Vitifolium’ references grape leaves, which its foliage resembles. The leaves emerge bronze in spring, shift to deep green in the summer, and change again in autumn to dazzling oranges and reds. Acer ‘Vitifolium’ won the Royal British Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. This tree will replace a declining Styrax obassia in a prominent location on the east side of the Bush House.
Sponsored trees come with a plaque that includes the tree’s name, the sponsor’s name, and an opportunity to honor someone important in the sponsor’s life.
